Kingshot Items: What to Hoard and What to Burn
Nearly every item in Kingshot is worth more during an event than outside one, and the gap between those two numbers is where most accounts quietly fall behind. This is the full ledger: what each item does, exactly where it comes from, and the one thing that matters, whether you spend it today or bank it for KvK.

How to read the verdicts
- Hoard it
- Worth noticeably more inside an event window. Bank it, plan the spend, and release it when Hall of Governors, Kingdom of Power or a matching scoring phase opens.
- It depends
- The right answer changes with where you are. These items have a threshold, a matching banner, or a troop type attached, and the item's own page says which.
- Use it now
- Holding it costs you more than spending it. The compounding benefit of using it today beats the event points you would earn by waiting.
Questions people keep asking
Should I save items for KvK in Kingshot?
Most of them, yes. Speedups, Mithril, Forgehammers, Hero Shards and Truegold Dust are all worth far more inside a scoring window than outside one. Hero XP, Pet Food and the skill books are the exceptions worth spending as they arrive.
What is the biggest item mistake new Kingshot players make?
Burning speedups the moment they arrive. The same speedups applied during Hall of Governors or Kingdom of Power score points on top of the time they save, which is the difference between keeping pace and falling behind.
What order should I upgrade hero gear in?
Infantry Gloves first, then Archer Helmet, then Cavalry Helmet, and then deeper into Red quality in that same order. Never spend Mithril on secondary or tertiary pieces.
