Kingshot Charm Design

Charm Designs upgrade Governor Gear Charms, the socketed layer that sits on top of your Governor Gear.

Hoard it

Charms are the socketed layer on Governor Gear. Each Governor Gear piece can carry charms, the charms have their own upgrade track, and Charm Designs are the first of the two materials that track consumes. The bonuses stack on top of the piece they are socketed into.

Because charms come after gear, Charm Designs are a later-game item that arrives earlier than you can use it well. Upgrading a charm on a gear piece you have not finished is spending twice, once now and once when the finished piece would have carried the charm better.

Designs come from event shops, Hall of Governors rewards and charm packs, and they are spent alongside Charm Guides.

When to spend it, by server age

Early game

Ignore them. Charms are not on the table until Governor Gear is built, and the Designs from early events keep.

Mid game

Finish the Governor Gear piece first. Once it is done, Charm Designs go into that piece's charms during a Hall of Governors charm phase, together with the Charm Guides they need.

Late game

Charm phases become a regular part of Hall of Governors, and Designs are spent one piece at a time in each window. Keep the Designs and Guides piles roughly matched, because the upgrade needs both.
