Kingshot Satin
Satin is the second cloth material for Governor Gear, consumed alongside Gilded Threads on every upgrade step.
Hoard it
Satin is the second half of every Governor Gear upgrade. Each step consumes a set amount of Satin and a set amount of Gilded Threads, and the upgrade only completes when both are covered. On its own Satin does nothing.
Most players end up with more Satin than Threads, which turns Satin into the material you are waiting to use rather than the one you are short of. That is still worth knowing, because a full Satin pile can trick you into queuing an upgrade the Threads pile cannot finish.
Sources are the same as for Threads: event shops, Hall of Governors rewards and governor gear packs.
Save it or spend it?
Hoard it, and count it against your Gilded Threads rather than on its own.

Early game
Nothing to spend it on yet. Let the Satin from early events accumulate.
Mid game
When the second Hall of Governors window opens Governor Gear scoring, check Satin against Threads and upgrade the piece both piles can finish in one session.
Late game
If Satin keeps outrunning Threads, spend shop currency on Threads and let Satin ride. The pair only moves as fast as the smaller pile.

- Your Governor Gear budget is whichever cloth material you have less of.

- Planning an upgrade off the larger pile and stalling halfway.
