What The Howler does
Raises march speed and lowers enemy lethality for two hours.
The pet that changes how a rally block feels. March speed decides whether your reinforcements arrive in time.
The Howler is a march-speed and enemy-lethality skill, so the Grizzly belongs on the main march when the fight is on the world map. Trigger it before a Kingdom of Power push and the two hours cover the approach and the fight.

- At the opening of a Bear Hunt, so every rally in the window travels faster.
- When your kingdom is defending and reinforcements need to reach a castle before the timer runs out.
What it costs to level
Every figure here is counted out of the full level table, so it is the cumulative Pet Food you spend to reach that level, rather than the cost of the single step.

At level 80 the Grizzly Bear carries a 21.78% troop attack and defense bonus and 1,568,160 power. That bonus applies whether the skill is on cooldown or not, which is why a pet you never trigger is still worth levelling.
Pet Food cost and the troop bonus are set by the generation, so two pets of the same generation cost exactly the same to raise. Their power and their skill are what differ.
Where it sits in the chain
The Beast Cage unlocks in waves by server day, and most pets also need the previous one at a set level.
- Becomes available on server day 140, once you have Lion level 15.
- Levelling it opens Giant Rhino on day 200.
Tips worth knowing
- Announce it in chat. A speed buff nobody knows about gets wasted by people who march early.
- Giant Rhino is locked behind Grizzly Bear level 15.

- Assuming the lethality cut protects a garrison that is outnumbered anyway.
